Wednesday, April 2, 2014 – Sydney Oden, 17, had a dream: to write a book about her first years with her grandfather who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when she was little. She wrote I Remember Him as a project for her Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can receive. But she needed a way to get her book published. She found the LMK Foundation, and we were able to work with her and a publisher to help her realize her dream. Not only did she receive her Gold Award, but she was named “2013 Young Woman of Distinction Award” by the Greater Atlanta Girl Scouts Council!
We are very proud to be a part of her journey.
See her story as told by Donna Lowery from 11Alive.
